The word primacy means to be first or most important especially when used in reference to religious status, office and authority. In the Christian realm Peter is supposed to possess the only legitimate right to lead the church and pass down hierarchal power. This is based on Mt 16:18. But this is taken out context due to the politics of religious maneuverings of the early Christian churches. In reality the Messyah was stating his own primacy over the church as he being the foundational stone. And this is stated in Eph 2:20, 1 Pe 2:6, Mt 21:42, Mk 12:10, Lk 20:17, Acts 4:10-11, 1 Pe 2:7. Also in Daniel 2:31-35 the Messyah is the stone that defeats Satan’s (Ra) governments. But there are other references in the bible that challenges this notion. In Gal 2:7 church authority is divided between Paul who is over the Gentiles and Peter who is over the people of Judah-Israel. But also in Jas 1:1 the Apostle James is sent to spread the gospel to the lost tribes of Ephraim-Israel and this reflects a separate mission aside from Peter’s and Paul’s. Moreover in Jn 21:21-22 the Messyah rebuked Peter’s authority over the Apostle John. So he was neither under Peter nor a part of his religious group but was to be given a separate distinctive mission and have authority over his own group. In reality there are seven separate missions commissioned by the Messyah and this is reflected in Mt 10:1-15, Lk 9:1-6, Mk 6:7-13. This is where he sends forth the Apostles two by two to preach and make disciples and in this format of six pairs with the Messyah being a part of a seventh pair it reflects the division of his body into seven churches (congregations). This is in connection with the seven churches mentioned in the book of Revelations chapters two and three. So how can any one group or leader claim apostolic primacy today? This old doctrine is not factual but a part of religious bigotry and oppression through a “one true church” mentality. But in the end seven churches (congregations) or theological spheres of influence are together the body of the Messyah. So with this evidence in mind there is no doubt that Peter’s primacy is a false doctrine.
